About
Fabergé, the world’s most iconic artist jeweller, creates extraordinary jewellery, timepieces, and objets d’art, as well as bespoke commissions for a discerning international clientele. Founded in 1842, Fabergé has been the most revered name in jewellery ever since Peter Carl Fabergé became official goldsmith to the Russian Imperial Court; the house created exquisite jewels and objects, including the legendary series of lavish and ingenious Imperial Easter Eggs.
Today, Fabergé takes inspiration from its storied past to introduce a new era of enchanting and enduring personal possessions and gifts for contemporary connoisseurs. By painting with the world’s finest coloured gemstones, Fabergé explores the art of colour through creations which are designed to become future heirlooms.
Fabergé is an iconic and prestigious name of exceptional heritage. In 2007, Pallinghurst Resources Limited (now the Gemfields Group) bought up the Fabergé trademarks, licenses and associated rights related to the name, reversing the fragmentation of the brand that had taken place over the past 90 years. Gemfields reinstated connections with the original Fabergé family, setting the stage for a new generation of authentic Fabergé designs. Fabergé’s use of coloured gemstones stems back to Peter Carl Fabergé’s love of them, and throughout the years artistic jewellers who have worked for the house have been seen to ‘paint with coloured gemstones’, bringing to life remarkable vibrant creations. Today, Fabergé’s membership of the Gemfields Group provides Fabergé with access to some of the finest gemstones in the world, and for Gemfields, a canvas upon which to demonstrate he beauty of responsibly sourced rubies and emeralds.
A design team comprising industry-leading craftsmen and in-house experts work across all of the Fabergé collections. Peter Carl Fabergé would say he conducted an orchestra, rather than being personally hands-on in the development of each of his iconic Imperial Eggs. This provided the right conditions for genius and surprise that are the hallmarks of all Fabergé designs. Fast forward to the present day, and once again Fabergé are harnessing the skills of the best Swiss watchmakers, the best enamel-workers and the best gemstone suppliers to offer jewellery of exceptional quality and unrivalled heritage, complete with that inimitable Fabergé element of surprise, to delight clients across the world.

Gemfields introduced the most technologically advanced coloured gemstone sort house in the world at its operation in Mozambique, with state-of-the-art equipment, like optical sorting machines. In addition, a proprietary grading system, a pioneering auction platform and an active marketing presence have all contributed to Gemfields playing a significant role in the rise of African gemstones.
Underlying this achievement has been the strong belief that coloured gemstones should create a positive impact for the country and community from which they originate.
